Message from the CEO

All good things must evolve in order to grow and prosper. Such has been the case for Harris County Housing Authority. Our dedicated staff has achieved many feats over the years and as a result, HCHA continues to put forth innovative thinking and fresh ideas to create the best in affordable housing for the residents of Harris County.

Affordable housing is about more than a roof and four walls, it is a place to call home. For Gulf Coast residents affected by Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Ike, we established a Disaster Housing Assistance Program to provide housing and the social services needed to get back to self-sufficiency.

For Harris County residents, we continue to foster strong partnerships with the private-sector and most recently, we opened our sixth affordable housing development devoted to quality living for residents 55 and over. And for our veterans, we are designing America’s first one-of-a-kind master-planned waterfront community.

Our staff continues to think outside the box to create new concepts that will benefit our citizens, strengthen our communities and change the perception of traditional affordable housing.

The citizens of Harris County, as well as business leaders, elected officials and the Board of Commissioners should know that I work with some of the most professional and highly regarded people in America. To the greatest extent, I am so proud and very fortunate to work alongside these distinguished individuals who dedicate themselves every day to the HCHA’s mission and the people of Harris County.
